In 2003, UPSTREAM was acquired by
the Godrej Group from Rosebluth
International, long known as a leader in corporate travel management.
Godrej is a 106-year old firm and one of the most highly regarded
brands in India . Its name is synonymous with trust and reliability,
attributes that mirror the excellent service and can-do spirit for
which UPSTREAM became known as an operating company of Rosenbluth
International.
UPSTREAM was formed in 1999 to diversify the
corporate managed travel business and build upon contact center experience
and expertise in the travel industry. In 2002, UPSTREAM formed a
joint venture with Godrej, which operates a contact center in Mumbai,
India. The experience provided both organizations a chance to leverage
shared values and the opportunity to forge an uncommonly strong commitment
to employees, customers and business partners.
With the purchase of UPSTREAM, Godrej, became
the first India-based firm to acquire and operate major call center
operations in the United States. The acquisition has also paved
the way for UPSTREAM to introduce a broad range of Business Process
Outsourcing (BPO), customer service, inbound selling and web support
services, building on the strengths that have established UPSTREAM’s
leadership within many sectors of the travel and hospitality industries.
In July of 2004 UPSTREAM, in its continuing
efforts to execute on an aggressive growth strategy, secured additional
funding from several private US-investors specializing in advanced
speech recognition capabilities. Bolstered by the global reach and
resources of these groups, UPSTREAM is now able to improve the performance
of leading businesses in virtually any industry where success depends
on providing superior online and offline contact center solutions.
